- Friendship Bracelet Making - Now... while this one requires time and patience to learn how to make different types and designs, it can be really calming and let the time pass quickly. Let your creativeness take over and make bracelets for you, friends and family to wear for different occasions. The best part is, people love receiving them! Make someone's day brighter and make them a little bracelet (or keyring). You could try beaded ones or threaded ones (harder but rewarding!) and use TikToks or Pinterest for tutorials or inspiration.
I believe it is so important for us all to have our own little (or big!!) hobbies because it gives us a sense of self and something to be passionate about. It is easy to think that we don't have any hobbies if there isn't anything major that we do on the side, but there are so many little hobbies that don't get enough credit/are looked over a lot. No one should think they don't have any hobbies; if this is you, here are some simple, easy and cosy hobbies I would recommend trying!
Remember... if you try a hobby which doesn't feel right for you, there are still so many other ones to try. It's like trial and error, you will find something that you find peace, enjoyment and passion out of!
- Reading - Reading seems like a big hobby that requires dedication, time and patience but trust me, I am a light reader and I still find reading to be consuming. It can be used as a wind down at the end of the day, the wake up in the morning, or something to fill up your day.
- Colouring - Don't judge until you try! I used to enjoy drawing as a teenager but when I lacked inspiration, I turned to colouring instead and it changed my life (well not literally.. I was just shocked with how fun it was lol). There are so many different types of colouring books with different themes, levels of intricacies, and vibes... you just can't go wrong! Try it whilst watching a movie, binging a TV series, listing to your favourite playlist or vibing to Lofi.
- Gaming (Sims, Roblox, iPhone games) - Gaming is a fun one for everyone! There are so many different types, difficulties, stories, and social aspects. If you're not a big gamer, games like the Sims 4, Roblox, iPhone games, and simulators can still be really addicting. Disconnect from real life and immerse yourself into a game for an hour.. or few.
- Journalling - While you may think journalling is boring or time consuming, it's the perfect way to check in with yourself. You could end the day (before you go to bed) by jotting down things that you achieved, things you want to do tomorrow, thoughts and feelings you had, something that made you happy, something you would have liked to have been better, etc. Empty your mind in your journal (or notes app on your phone) so you can sleep lighter and have more awareness of yourself, your day and the next.
